Operators working at company headquarters and at depots are available round the clock (including weekends and holidays) with motorway traffic news, answers to road-use and vignette-related questions, and information about the following:

 

- Traffic conditions

- Current detours, lane closings, traffic congestion

- Details of accidents, the resulting traffic conditions, congestion

- Events and programmes affecting motorways

- Disaster reports

- Road conditions

- Weather and visibility conditions, precipitation, wind speed and direction, temperature, relative humidity

- During the winter season, additional information on fresh snowfall, machines currently working on the roads, snow barriers, blizzards and blocked roads

- Recommendations for bypassing congested sections

 

 

Monitoring public roads and operating a motorway information service are requirements prescribed by law. The road inspector and the traffic information service, working together, perform road-operation duties that are considered essential functions. Operators work in dedicated rooms at the company's headquarters and the engineering bureaus, where they to receive and transmit information through several different media. They notify designated company executives about serious motorway accidents. They inform motorists about the current traffic situation and any changes through our website as well as via electronic notice boards at the roadside. They stay in close contact with the Traffic Information Service (Útinform), the Hungarian Automobile Association, the National Meteorological Service and the media (various radio stations and television channels. They provide assistance to those needing help at the roadside. In the event of an accident, they notify and work with the ambulance service, the police, the fire department and with other authorities and organizations if needed, depending on the nature of the accident.
