Surface Reconstruction Works on the M3 Motorway
Early next week major surface reconstruction works will begin on the M3 motorway. From 7 September, diversions and lane narrowings should be expected over the 18-21 and the 96-99 km sections. During the reconstruction works, two lanes in each direction will be available for motorists at both locations.
In the early hours on 7 September, setting up a diversion will mark the beginning of surface reconstruction works between km sections 18 and 21 on the M3 motorway at Mogyoród, on the Budapest-bound carriageway. Besides the complete replacement of the road surface on this section, the reconstruction of the bridges located at km sections 20 and 21 will also take place in the framework of the project. The reconstruction will include the replacement of the asphalt surface, kerbs and railings, and the insulating layer of the bridge. A new noise protection wall will also be installed in order to ensure Mogyoród is protected from noise. During the major work phases, forecast to be until 20 October, one of the two lanes on the Budapest-bound side will be rerouted to the opposite side of the motorway, while the other lane will run directly beside the construction area. The 245 million HUF investment will be executed by Colas Hungary Zrt., which won the public procurement tender.
In the early hours of 7 September the surface reconstruction works between km sections 96 and 99 on the M3 motorway at Kál, on the Budapest-bound carriageway, will also be launched. According to the schedule, during the works, which are to be completed on 3 October, one of the two lanes on the Budapest-bound side will be rerouted to the opposite side of the motorway, while the other lane will run directly beside the construction area, as with the Mogyoród site. The 150 million HUF investment will be carried out by He-DO Kft., which won the public procurement tender.
The State Motorway Management Company would like to thank motorists travelling on the sections concerned for their understanding and patience.
