Painting of road markings is scheduled to begin at the weekend on the single-lane sections of express road M70, which will be completely closed until the works are completed. This measure is designed to improve traffic safety.

Based on the recommendation of the commission inspecting traffic safety on express road M70, double continuous white lines will be painted along the entire length of the single-lane section of the road, in addition to other measures designed to improve traffic safety. Due to local conditions and in order to ensure fast and efficient completion of the works, the affected road sections will be closed completely.

Considering the volume and composition of traffic, weekends are the most suitable time to perform these works. Painting the double continuous white line is calculated to take six working days, which means that this road will be closed for three weekends, on the section between Muraszemenye and Tornyiszentmiklós on two occasions and once between Letenye and Muraszemenye.

Since road markings may only be painted in dry weather, the completion date of the works can only be estimated. Nonetheless, the experts of the State Motorway Management Company Ltd. forecast the works to be finished before the end of October in any case.

The traffic on express road M70 will be diverted to a parallel highway for the period of closure. Motorists will be informed of the designated diversion routes with yellow signs.
