In addition to visiting any of the Hungarian State Motorway Management Company Ltd (SMMC) retailers or customer service offices, there are four other ways in which foreign motorists can buy authorisation for road use.

Direct ordering

Annual authorisation for motorway use can be ordered directly from SMMC through normal mail or fax (by filling in a Group Purchase Order). Click here for details: Group purchase order!

Ordering through the Internet

To use this service, motorists should visit the www.autopalyamatrica.hu website. You need to provide the licence plate number of your vehicle, the type of e-vignette required, and the date from which the authorisation is required. There is no need to deposit money on a specific account. After providing the required information, the price of the authorisation for road use can be paid using a safe purchasing interface, with the help of a bank card. Thanks to a recent revamp, users can purchase 1-day, 4-day, weekly and monthly vignettes for vehicles in categories D2, D3 and D4, and for motorcycles (D1), in addition to D1 category vehicles. E-vignettes can also be ordered in advance. Following the transaction performed using a bank card, users will receive their invoices in the mail. The system automatically saves and stores all confirmation vouchers, making their identification easy in the event of future queries. The price of the service is HUF 100 per e-vignette.

Ordering through mobile phone (bank card)

Owing to this service users can purchase any kind of vignettes via mobile phone, using their bank card. This is the first service on the market being provided without charging convenience fee on the customers. Vignettes can also be ordered in advance through the service. Purchasing through companies in the retail network

Foreign transport companies can also order road-use authorisation through Hungarian cargo companies that belong to the retail network of SMMC Ltd. The network includes the following companies:
